Updates from the Barnahus Network Summer 2026

Dear colleagues,

In the last year and a half, the Membership of the Barnahus Network has been deepening cross-country cooperation, exchanging knowledge on emerging practices, and supporting alignment with the Barnahus Quality Standards. These collective efforts continue to strengthen the quality and consistency of Barnahus practice across our network and beyond.

The participation of our members and professionals from our broader partnerships – whether through sharing expertise, contributing to working groups, engaging in our events—has been essential to the growth, relevance and vitality of our network.

We are proud to share that in 2025 we were awarded two important grants, which will significantly support the growth, development, and activities of the network in the coming three years. These resources will enable us to strengthen coordination, expand opportunities for members, and further advance Barnahus. We are grateful for the trust placed in our work and look forward to using these funds to serve the network and its mission.

We are excited to build on this momentum.

Looking to 2026, so far our members have benefited from:

  • Expanded opportunities for professional development, through a series of training opportunities including on inclusion, scaling, and parental support.
  • Continued support of the development of an evaluation framework for Barnahus.
  • Contributed to international and national initiatives, standards, guidelines and practice development.

And there is more to look forward to in 2026, including:

We look forward to continuing  to deepening collaboration within our growing membership and creating even more spaces where knowledge, experience, and innovation can be shared openly. Your insights and active engagement will continue to guide our priorities and strengthen our collective voice. Thank you for your commitment to the Barnahus Network and to the children and families at the heart of our joint mission to promote Barnahus and excellence in practice.

Wishing you all a calm and restorative summer break,

Olivia and Shawnna
