This webinar on adapting Barnahus services for child victims of human trafficking. It looks at the Acute Crisis Intervention (ISA) approach, the Handbook for forensic child interviews in presumed cases of trafficking, and key European and international legal provisions with a particular focus on multidisciplinary approaches and services.

The webinar was presented by Noora Halmeenlaakso from the National Bureau of Investigation in Finland, Dr. Linda Jonsson from Marie Cederschiöld University, Rebecca O’Donnell from Child Circle, and Olivia Lind Haldorsson from the Council of the Baltic Sea States.

• Noora Halmeenlaakso presented the newly published Handbook for forensic child interviews in presumed cases of trafficking. The handbook aims to support professionals in carrying out investigative interviews in presumed cases of trafficking in children. See presentation
• Dr. Linda Jonsson introduced the Acute Crisis Intervention (ISA) that she has developed in the context of this project focusing on key aspects that are important to be aware of for professionals involved in interagency case management. This intervention is tailored for the first critical days after disclosure or a child investigative interview. See presentation
• Rebecca O’Donnell discussed key European and international legal provisions with a particular focus on multidisciplinary approaches and services. Rebecca highlighted t the revision of the trafficking directive, referral mechanism provisions, and provisions from the revision of the victims’ rights directive.  See presentation
• Olivia Lind Haldorsson discussed key aspects of the Barnahus Quality Standards when supporting child victims of trafficking.
