Our website has been shortlisted for the People’s Choice award at the 2026 .eu Web Awards!
Barnahus brings criminal justice, child protection, physical health, and mental health services together in a safe, child-friendly setting. By coordinating their work around each child, professionals support that children access the justice and care they need without needing to repeat their story nor navigate complex systems. This way of working supports States to meet their international obligations to protect children from violence and abuse.
European and international cooperation has helped many countries to establish Barnahus and strengthen the quality of their services.
Barnahus.eu provides a shared home for the knowledge, resources, and practical experience that make this international exchange possible. From helping a country take its first steps towards opening a Barnahus to supporting an experienced team to improve its practice, our website makes knowledge available across borders. It shares what professionals are learning, explains the standards that underpin quality services, and offers resources for children and families.
Behind these resources is a community of 61 members from 32 countries and territories who are working towards the same goal: making justice, protection, and care systems work in children’s best interests.
Your vote can help us win support to bring these resources and the work of this community to a wider audience.
Vote for Barnahus.eu in the People’s Choice category by 31 October, and share this post with someone who believes in Barnahus.

The .eu Web Awards celebrate outstanding websites using the .eu, .ею, and .ευ domain names. Organised by EURid, the competition recognises creative, impactful, and innovative online projects that showcase the value of a European digital identity and contribute to a safer, more sustainable, and forward-looking internet.
Over the years, the awards have highlighted websites from across Europe that excel in design, content, accessibility, user experience, and positive societal impact. By recognising these achievements, the .eu Web Awards aim to inspire digital innovation and showcase the diversity and creativity of the European online community.
An independent jury will evaluate all finalists. The final winners will be determined based on a combination of public votes and the jury’s assessment and will be announced online on 4 November 2026.
The winner will receive:
- 5,000 EUR for an online campaign,
